Learn - Electric violin, the modern variety of the classical violin


Strings… simple and minimalist but when tuned and tightened to perfection and teased with expert fingers can produce a magical sound called MUSIC.

ELECTRIC VIOLIN

Electric violin is the modern variety of the classical violin. The music is produced in form of electronic output in contrast to 4 stringed traditional violin the availability of 5,6 and7 stringed electric violin provide versatility. The electronic violin produces a raw sound as there is no resonance as in the hollow bodied classical versions and so are preferred in rock and pop music.

VIOLA STRINGS

Somewhere between the violin and the cello, lies the viola which is a bowed stringed instrument. Viola strings are individually wrapped around a peg near the scroll and is tuned by turning the peg. It commonly has 4 strings normally tuned in fifth. Tuning the viola string to C-G-D A produces music in classical form.

DOUBLE BASS STRINGS

Double bass is the modern variety of traditional stringed instruments. Its the largest and lowest pitched bowed string instrument in modern symphony orchestra. The strings are over-wound catgut strings which are now replaced by synthetic materials like steel. Double bass strings are tuned to E-A-D-G generally tuned in fourth.
